Existing technologies also suffer from poor cost effectiveness and\/or throughput.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with industrial partners, Lenz Instruments\u00a0has\u00a0developed a pilot sorting line that allows\u00a0separating non-ferrous scrap into up\u00a0to three different pure fractions. The system\u00a0combines an array of electromagnetic and optical sensors that determine the composition of\u00a0each\u00a0fragment in the scrap in just one millisecond.\u00a0A high-speed control system processes this information in real-time,\u00a0and\u00a0separates each fragment into\u00a0different bins by means of air-ejectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The
